On Friday the church garden was filled with young families playing games and having cream teas. We opened up the church to welcome friends and neighbours for a chilled out sunny afternoon together before the stat of the new term. The face painting and ice creams were a particular favourite. It was wonderful to see the place so busy and filled with children.
In mid August we held an event to celebrate music and singing, inviting local 'talent' to add to beautiful sounds of a steel drummer. It was amazing to see so many children and adults singing and playing guitars. Craft, food, games and a bouncy castle added to the time we had together. Once again we saw the community coming together in a really positive way, and we are so thankful to God for good weather and some great conversations!
The church has been organising community events during school holidays for over 18 months. This continued last week with the arrival of ponies and alpacas at Dugdale Crescent, where children and families met to have fun together. It was wonderful to see people from all walks of life there eating hotdogs, showing off their pets and playing games. We believe that God is very much at work in those outside of church as well as those inside, because God loves us all and wants to be involved in our lives. Thanks for coming along and being part of all that God is doing.
On Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st June, we are planning lots of community activities for local resdients to enjoy. There will be fun for everyone, with cream teas, jewellery making, sports & games, as well as a bouncy castle! It's all due to take place at Dugdale Crescent, just a 5 minute walk from the Chapel. Why not come along, meet others, be active and enjoy the holiday week?
