On Wednesday 31st May and Thursday 1st June, we are planning lots of community activities for local resdients to enjoy. There will be fun for everyone, with cream teas, jewellery making, sports & games, as well as a bouncy castle! It's all due to take place at Dugdale Crescent, just a 5 minute walk from the Chapel. Why not come along, meet others, be active and enjoy the holiday week?
On Easter Sunday morning, we celebrated the life, creativity and power of Jesus in the heart of our local community. The open air service was a great success and despite a chill in the air, 50 people came along and the amosphere was fantastic.
During the final song, a man who has suffered with Tourette's Syndrome for 7 years (and who swore in almost every sentence he said), was prayed for. Immediately, he declared "It's gone!". He had been totally set free, it has not returned, and he has been attending Ark ever since.
God is real, powerful and alive!
Ark is getting out on the green this Easter!!! We have decided to focus our time and effort on our local community and are organising sport, fun and leisure activities at the large grassy space near to our Chapel.

This initiative is designed to counter negative attitudes and treatment towards people from other nations living in our city. It was launched by the Bishop of Birmingham on 1st July and we support the aim of making everyone in our community feel valued and loved by God through his people. There is more on this in the Summer edition of our newsletter.

This mega clothes and clutter sale raised a staggering £365 in total!!! All of this money will go to the church we are partnering with in Brasov, Romania. They work with desperately needy families and individuals, reaching out to change their lives in the name of Jesus.
A team of seven are going out there on a five day Support & Serve trip to help organise stores of equipment for the disabled, do practical jobs and take some house bound people out for the day.
This Saturday evening event is ideal for people who don’t attend a church. The relaxed style of the Lounge allows us to gently consider life issues without preaching.
The first one involved live music, film clips and an interview with Hannah. There were even drinks and nibbles throughout!!!
So, why not join us at the next one? Once you’ve been, I’m sure you’ll want to invite family, friends and colleagues in future. Fix the date in your diary for Saturday 12th March 7pm. See you there!
Sunday 6th December saw the very first fellowship meal take place at the Chapel. Everyone helped to provide food and there were well over 40 people to make use of the new crockery and cutlery. The food was quite nice as well! Thanks to all those who supported this landmark event. We look forward to many more in the future.
Members of Ark will be praying for the local community of Mere Green in the build up to Christmas. We are using a resource called "Keep Blessing Your Community", which offers daily declarations, proclamations, scriptures and prayers over a 40 day period.
The plan is to follow this time by posting a small gift to 500 neighbouring properties. The gifts will be booklets which challenge people who don't currently pray, to "Try Praying", and we are excited about what might happen next!
The newsletter for November is now available.

This exciting part of Stepping Stones Projects has now moved from the URC in Sutton into our own building. In future service users will be learning life skills through baking tasty food, growing things in the garden and many other activities that enrich life. Lyn McGurk, who runs these sessions on Wednesdays from 10-2.30, is excited by the fresh opportunities the new setting will offer, and is looking forward to her group being even more free to develop their independence moving forward...
On Tuesday mornings from 10-12 Ark is now registered as a Place of Welcome, where anyone can come to enjoy free refreshments and a chat.
